Our nation has beem through many changes and hard times from segregation to one of the greatest leaders; Martin Luther King J.R., and to now having an African American president; Barack Obama. There has been many different things learned in our nation after going through all these experiences throughout the years. We have benefited from so many things today because of what happened in the past. We have learned to treat everyone equally and to not discriminate just because of one’s color. Martin Luther King J.R.’s leadership has taught us how to take great actions that do and can have a large, positive, and powerful effect without using violence. Another way we have benefited from the black American experience is knowing that there is still hope for a better future for now and the next generation as long as we have strong leaders such as Barack Obama to help light up a path for us.
Loking back from when there was slavery and segregation to the present times, our country has seen many differences and made it through all of the hate and discrimination. In our lives today, we have grown to accept every other person as themselves, not by the color of there skin. People today are treated equally as a whole. Now for the first time in all of America’s history we have an African American president.
After Martin Luther King’s great leadership, there have been many protests and just organizatins of people coming together to stand up for what they believe in, which in many of them have resulted in no violence.
